British stocks decreased on Wednesday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index down by 0.07 percent, or 5.12 points, to close at 7,487.96 points.

Paddy Power Betfair, an international sports betting and gaming operator, soared 4.48 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Glencore and Anglo American increased by 3.46 percent and 3.42 percent, respectively.

Next, a British multinational clothing, footwear and home products retailer, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 9.14 percent.

Standard Chartered, a British multinational banking and financial services company, dropped 6.05 percent. Marks & Spencer Group, a major British multinational retailer, fell 4.45 percent.
