British stocks decreased on Tuesday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index down by 0.11 percent, or 8.47 points, to close at 7,526.97 points.
Standard Life Aberdeen, a British asset management firm, soared 2.08 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Shire and Antofagasta increased by 1.88 percent and 1.87 percent, respectively.
The multinational pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical company ConvaTec Group was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 26.60 percent. The automotive and aerospace components company GKN dropped 3.43 percent. Bunzl, a multinational distribution and outsourcing company, fell 2.89 percent.
