British Stocks Down 0.22 Pct Friday
 

British stocks decreased on Friday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index down 15.86 points, or 0.22 percent, to close at 7,183.64 points.

Micro Focus International, the British software and information technology business, soared 3.15 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. United Utilities Group and WPP rose by 2.32 percent and 2.11 percent, respectively.

Rio Tinto, the international mining group, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 2.35 percent.

Glencore, a multinational commodity trading and mining company, dropped 2.12 percent. Marks & Spencer Group, the British clothing and food retailer, dropped 1.82 percent.
