British stocks decreased on Wednesday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index down by 0.25 percent, or 18.79 points, to close at 7,354.13 points.
Micro Focus International, a British software and information technology business, soared 6.16 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Next and ITV increased by 2.51 percent and 2.05 percent, respectively.
The British residential property development company Barratt Developments was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 4.57 percent. G4S, a British multinational security services company, dropped 2.92 percent. BAE Systems, a British multinational defence, security, and aerospace company, fell 2.70 percent.
