British Stocks Down 0.26 pct Friday-Sep 8
 

British stocks decreased on Friday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index down by 0.26 percent, or 19.38 points, to close at 7,377.60 points.

St James's Place, a British wealth management business, soared 2.15 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Barclays and ConvaTec Group increased by 1.96 percent and 1.90 percent, respectively.

The multinational mining and metals company BHP Billiton was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 3.77 percent. Antofagasta, a Chilean mining group, dropped 3.72 percent. Kingfisher, the Europe's leading home improvement retailer, fell 3.61 percent.
