British Stocks Down 0.55 pct Tuesday-July 11
 

British stocks decreased on Tuesday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index down by 0.55 percent, or 40.27 points, to close at 7,329.76 points.

Glencore, a multinational commodity trading and mining company, soared 2.14 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Anglo American and Fresnillo increased by 1.54 percent and 1.19 percent, respectively.

A British multinational publishing and education company Pearson was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 5.14 percent. Marks & Spencer Group, a British clothing and food retailer, dropped 4.69 percent. The British multinational food processing and retailing company Associated British Foods fell 4.08 percent.
