British stocks decreased on Thursday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index down by 0.05 percent, or 3.49 points, to close at 7,413.44 points.
BT Group, a British multinational telecommunications services company, soared 3.96 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Marks & Spencer Group and Taylor Wimpey increased by 3.42 percent and 3.33 percent, respectively.
A multinational pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical company AstraZeneca was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 3.45 percent. Shire, a global specialty biopharmaceutical company, dropped 2.22 percent. The Europe's leading broadcasting and entertainment company Sky fell 2.06 percent.
