British stocks rose on Friday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index up by 0.19 percent, or 14.27 points, to close at 7,577.49 points.
Antofagasta, a copper mining company, soared 3.55 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Glencore and Anglo American increased by 3.3 percent and 2.54 percent, respectively.
British American Tobacco, a British multinational tobacco company, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 3.42 percent. Ocado Group, an online grocery retailer, dropped 3.14 percent. Berkeley Group Holdings, a British property developer, fell 1.76 percent.
