British stocks rose on Friday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index up by 0.28 percent, or 21.30 points, to close at 7,636.93 points.
Micro focus international, a multinational software and information technology business, soared 3.89 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Anglo American and Rolls-Royce holdings increased by 3.59 percent and 2.98 percent, respectively.
Carnival,a cruise company, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 1.54 percent. British American tobacco, a multinational tobacco company, dropped 1.21 percent. Whitbread, a hotel and restaurant group, fell 0.90 percent.
