British stocks rose on Friday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index up by 0.64 percent, or 46.74 points, to close at 7,310.64 points.
AstraZeneca, a multinational pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical company, soared 3.01 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Johnson Matthey and Standard Life Aberdeen increased by 3.01 percent and 2.71 percent, respectively.
The British multinational diversified engineering business Smiths Group was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 5.95 percent. Kingfisher, an Europe's leading home improvement retailer, dropped 1.17 percent. Smurfit Kappa Group, an Europe's leading corrugated packaging company, fell 0.93 percent.
