Canadian Stock Market Rises-July 25
 

Canada's main stock index ended closed higher Tuesday as energy stocks and base metal miners and oil prices rallied.

The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index The Toronto Stock Exchange's benchmark Standard & Poor's/TSX Composite Index rose 73.68 points, or 0.49 percent to close the day at 15,202.37.

Eight of its 10 main sectors rose. Copper prices hit their highest in more than two years.

The most influential movers on the index also included Suncor Energy, which rose 70 cents, or 1.8%, to 39.07 Canadian dollars, and Canadian Natural Resources, up 74 cents, or 2%, at 38.06 Canadian dollars.

The Canadian dollar recovered 0.02 cents to 79.95 cents U.S while oil prices increased 1.58 to 47.92 U.S dollars. a barrel and gold prices fell 4.10 to 1,250.20 U.S dollars an ounce.
