Chinese stocks closed lower on Thursday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.34 percent, at 3,370.17 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.83 percent lower at 11,189.55 points. The ChiNext Index, which tracks China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, lost 0.3 percent to close at 1,862.61 points.
