Chinese stocks opened higher on Monday, the first trading day after the National Day holiday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 1.62 percent, at 3,403.25 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index opened 1.45 percent higher at 11,248.36 points. The ChiNext Index, China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, was up 1.23 percent to open at 1,889.89 points.
