The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at record high on Tuesday, the first trading day of the month, as strong corporate earnings have broadly been supportive of stock market.

The Dow added 0.33 percent, and the S&P 500 gained 0.24 percent, while the Nasdaq increased 0.23 percent.
