French shares edged down on Friday, with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 down 0.65 percent, or 33.67 points, to close at 5,120.68 points.
A total of 9 of the 40 selected large companies gained in the day.
Multinational company in digital transformation Atos advanced 1.53 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. French automotive supplier Valeo rose 0.82 percent while French information technology consulting corporation Capgemini gained 0.79 percent.
International financial group Societe Generale went down by 2.91 percent, the top loser of the blue chips. French bank Credit Agricole lost 1.54 percent while French financial giant BNP Paris edged down 1.42 percent.
