French shares lost on Monday, with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 down 0.38 percent, or 19.29 points, to close at 5,103.97 points.
Of the 40 selected large companies, 32 lost in the day.
Finnish multinational communications, information technology and consumer electronics company Nokia was down 1.45 percent, the top loser of the blue chips. European IT services corporation Atos and French multinational banking and financial services company Societe Generale lost 1.39 percent and 1.12 percent respectively.
French food services and facilities management company Sodexo rose 2.71 percent, the top gainer of the day. French multinational corporation Schneider Electric was up 0.48 percent, while multinational automotive supplier Valeo gained 0.47 percent.
