French shares lost on Tuesday, with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 down 0.48 percent, or 25.04 points, to close at 5,140.60 points.
Of the 40 selected large companies, 28 lost in the day.
French multinational dairy group Danone tumbled 1.75 percent, the top loser of the blue chips. Multinational luxury group Kering was down 1.56 percent and French food services and facilities management company Sodexo lost 1.46 percent.
French oil and gas firm Technipfmc rose 2.30 percent, the top gainer of the day. Arcelormittal SA, multinational steel manufacturing corporation gained 1.70 percent. French vehicle producer Peugeot was up 1.19 percent.
