French shares edged up on Monday, with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 up 0.20 percent, or 10.04 points, to close at 5,127.70 points.
20 of the 40 selected large companies gained in the day.
Building material manufacturer LafargeHolcim advanced 2.04 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. French multinational advertising and public relations company Publicis Groupe rose 1.43 percent, while French banking giant Societe Generale gained 1.19 percent.
French multinational automobile manufacturer Peugeot went down by 1.30 percent, the top loser of the blue chips. French retail giant Carrefour lost 1.21 percent, while French multinational food products corporation Danone edged down 0.93 percent.
