French shares decreased on Thursday with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 Index lost 0.59 percent to close at 5,115,23 points.
Adecco fell 4.92 percent after seeing results in the second quarter below expectations. The group specializing in human resources posted a net profit in the second quarter of 192 million euros (225 million U.S. dollars), up 1 percent while analysts expected 194 million euros.
SFR Group finished at the top of SBF 120 with a 9.22-percent jump to 34.35 euros. The share is thus close to the price of 34.50 euros proposed by Altice for its public offer of withdrawal.
Eurofins Scientific, a group of analytical laboratories specializing in the agri-food sector, outperformed the market with a 0.15-percent decline to 462.10 euros, after announcing the acquisition of Japan Analytical Chemistry Consultants Co. Ltd. and Ecopro Research KK.
