German shares closed flat on Friday, with the benchmark DAX index down 7.68 points, or 0.06 percent, to close at 12,592.35 points.
Deutsche Boerse group, marketplace organizer for the trading of shares and securities, lost the most among the blue chips, down by 3.51 percent, followed by European health care company Fresenius SE and German maker of sportswear and equipment Adidas, which lost 0.91 percent and 0.81 percent respectively.
German energy group E.ON, semiconductor manufacturer Infineon Technologies and German telecommunications company Deutsche Telekom was the top three winners, rising 1.40 percent, 0.92 percent and 0.68 percent respectively.
Deutsche Telekom was the most traded share of the day with a turnover of 250.47 million euros (299.58 million U.S. dollars).
