German stocks closed flat on Friday, with the benchmark DAX index up 7.35 points, or 0.06 percent, to close at 12,303.98 points.
German industrial giant Thyssenkrupp won the most among the blue chips, with its shares up 1.96 percent.
German banking and financial services company Commerzbank and multinational building materials company HeidelbergCement rose by 1.40 percent and 1.13 percent respectively.
European mass media company ProSiebenSat.1 lost the most among the blue chips, by falling 0.83 percent. Renal dialysis equipement supplier Fresenius Medical and telecommunications company Deutsche Telekom went down by 0.74 percent and 0.64 percent respectively.
Manufacturing and electronics company Siemens was the most-traded share with a turnover of 179.13 million euros (216.03 million U.S. dollars).
