German stocks closed flat on Monday, with the benchmark DAX index up 12.03 points, or 0.09 percent, to close at 13,229.57 points.

Automotive manufacturer Volkswagen won the most among the blue chips, with its shares up 3.24 percent.

European mass media company ProSiebenSat.1 and manufacturing and electronics company Siemens rose by 1.76 percent and 1.63 percent respectively.

Multinational chemical firm Linde lost the most among the blue chips, by falling 2.30 percent. Marketplace organizer for the trading of shares and securities Deutsche Boerse group and telecommunications company Deutsche Telekom went down by 1.67 percent and 1.60 percent respectively.

Volkswagen was the most-traded share with a turnover of 424.51 million euros (492.94 million U.S. dollars).
