German stocks closed flat on Tuesday, with the benchmark DAX index up 10.05 points, or 0.08 percent, to close at 13,013.19 points.
Commerzbank won the most among the blue chips, with its shares up 5.78 percent. Deutsche Bank and automotive manufacturer Volkswagen rose by 2.70 percent and 2.07 percent respectively.
German personal-care company Beiersdorf lost the most among the blue chips, by falling 1.06 percent. Multinational chemical and pharmaceutical company Bayer and software corporation SAP went down by 1.04 percent and 0.97 percent respectively.
Deutsche Bank was the most-traded share with a turnover of 288.06 million euros (338.78 million U.S. dollars).
