German stocks closed flat on Wednesday, with the benchmark DAX index up 2.34 points, or 0.02 percent, to close at 13,061.87 points.

German automotive manufacturer Volkswagen won the most among the blue chips, with its shares up by 2.68 percent. Chemical group Linde and marketplace organizer for the trading of shares and securities Deutsche Boerse group rose by 1.69 percent and 1.61 percent respectively.

German semiconductor manufacturer Infineon Technologies lost the most among the blue chips, by falling 4.89 percent. Multinational software corporation SAP and housing association Vonovia went down by 1.96 percent and 1.89 percent respectively.

Volkswagen was the most-traded share with a turnover of 444.75 million euros (526.00 million U.S. dollars).
