German stocks closed flat on Tuesday, with the benchmark DAX index up 21.50 points, or 0.18 percent, to close at 12,123.71 points.
Chemical and consumer goods company Henkel won the most among the blue chips, with its shares up 2.16 percent. Pharmaceutical company Merck and automotive manufacturer BMW rose by 1.62 percent and 1.41 percent respectively.
German banking and financial services provider Commerzbank lost the most among the blue chips, by falling 3.33 percent. Deutsche Bank and insurance company Allianz went down by 2.50 percent and 1.54 percent respectively.
Manufacturing and electronics company Siemens was the most-traded share with a turnover of 258.75 million euros (307.65 million U.S. dollars).
