German stocks rose on Thursday, with the benchmark DAX index up 14.75 points, or 0.12 percent, to close at 12,641.33 points.
German banking and financial services provider Commerzbank won the most among the blue chips, with its share price up by 2.13 percent. German airlines Lufthansa and automotive manufacturer Volkswagen rose by 1.46 percent and 1.08 percent respectively.
Manufacturing and electronics company Siemens lost the most among the blue chips, by falling 1.90 percent. German multinational building materials company HeidelbergCement and semiconductor manufacturer Infineon Technologies went down by 1.31 percent and 0.91 percent respectively.
German automotive manufacturer Daimler was the most-traded share with a turnover of 384.21 million euros (438.65 million U.S. dollars).
