German stocks rose on Tuesday, with the benchmark DAX index up 34.88 points, or 0.28 percent, to close at 12,292.05 points.

Energy group E.ON won the most among the blue chips, with its shares up 2.05 percent. Energy group RWE and Deutsche Post rose by 1.59 percent and 0.95 percent respectively.

Industrial company HeidelbergCement lost the most among the blue chips, by falling 1.29 percent. German banking and financial services provider Commerzbank and housing association Vonovia went down by 0.92 and 0.82 percent respectively.

Manufacturing and electronics company Siemens was the most-traded share with a turnover of 247.93 million euros (324.41 million U.S. dollars).
