German stocks rose on Wednesday, with the benchmark DAX index up 90.83 points, or 0.75 percent, to close at 12,214.54 points.

Automotive manufacturer Daimler won the most among the blue chips, with its shares up 4.12 percent. BMW and Deutsche Bank rose by 3.02 percent and 2.62 percent respectively.

Renal dialysis equipement supplier Fresenius Medical lost the most among the blue chips, by falling 0.39 percent. Multinational building materials company HeidelbergCement and energy group E.ON went down by 0.26 percent and 0.16 percent respectively.

Daimler was the most-traded share with a turnover of 528.36 million euros (630.38 million U.S. dollars).
