German Shares Gain 1.09 Pct Wednesday
 

German stocks rose on Wednesday, with the benchmark DAX index up 131.49 points, or 1.09 percent, to close at 12,245.36 points.

German airlines Lufthansa won the most among the blue chips, with its shares up 3.12 percent. European health care company Fresenius SE and housing association Vonovia rose by 3.07 percent and 2.16 percent respectively.

Automotive manufacturer Volkswagen lost the most among the blue chips, by falling 1.53 percent. Commerzbank and tire specialist Continental down by 0.83 percent and 0.68 percent respectively.

German multinational software corporation SAP was the most-traded share with a turnover of 351.84 million euros (436.89 million U.S. dollars).
