German stocks rose on Monday, with the benchmark DAX index up 143.79 points, or 1.16 percent, to close at 12,538.31 points.
Tire specialist Continental won the most among the blue chips, with its shares up 3.08 percent. Semiconductor manufacturer Infineon Technologies and automotive manufacturer Volkswagen rose by 2.83 percent and 2.52 percent respectively.
Personal-care company Beiersdorf, the only loser of the day, went down by 0.25 percent.
Continental was the most-traded share with a turnover of 164.12 million euros (190.92 million U.S. dollars).
