German shares lost on Monday, with the benchmark DAX index down 31.11 points, or 0.25 percent, to close at 12,208.95 points.
Automotive manufacturer Daimler lost the most among the blue chips, down by 2.50 percent, followed by BMW and semiconductor manufacturer Infineon Technologies, which lost 2.09 percent and 1.93 percent respectively.
German banking and financial services provider Deutsche Bank, Commerzbank and energy group RWE were the top three winners, rising 2.75 percent, 2.49 percent and 1.22 percent respectively.
Daimler was the most traded share of the day with a turnover of 645.27 million euros (751.61 million U.S. dollars).
