German shares lost on Monday, with the benchmark DAX index down 99.20 points, or 0.82 percent, to close at 12,065.99 points.
German industrial giant Thyssenkrupp lost the most among the blue chips, down by 2.93 percent, followed by energy group E.ON and German global banking and financial services company Deutsche Bank, which lost 2.57 percent and 2.29 percent respectively.
German airlines Lufthansa and housing association Vonovia were the only two winners, rising 0.70 percent and 0.49 percent respectively.
Deutsche Bank was the most traded share of the day with a turnover of 193.44 million euros (227.50 million U.S. dollars).
