Indian markets closed marginally higher Thursday. Mild gains were seen on benchmark indices in the final hour of trade ahead of expiry of August derivative contracts.

The benchmark S&P BSE Sensex closed at 31,730.49, 84.03 points or 0.27 percent up compared to its previous close at 31,646.46.
