Singapore stocks closed higher on Monday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) rising 0.01 percent or 0.27 points to close at 3,291.56.

A total of 2.16 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.05 billion Singapore dollars (about 773.14 million U.S. dollars). Losers outnumbered gainers by 257 to 193.

The STI index closed up 0.9 percent or 29.45 points to close at 3,291.29 last Friday.
