Singapore stocks closed lower on Thursday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) dropping 0.13 percent or 4.25 points to close at 3213.82.

A total of 1.79 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.12 billion Singapore dollars (about 826.80 million U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered losers by 215 to 211.

The STI index went down 0.24 percent or 7.88 points to close at 3218.07 on Wednesday.
