Singapore stocks finished lower on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) dipping 0.16 percent or 5.33 points to close at 3,230.36.

A total of 1.79 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.1 billion Singapore dollars (about 822.91 million U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered losers by 202 to 194.

The STI index went up 0.22 percent or 7.18 points to close at 3,235.69 on Tuesday.
