Singapore stocks closed higher on Thursday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) rising 0.37 percent or 12.37 points to close at 3,356.25.

A total of 1.77 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.12 billion Singapore dollars (about 820.18 million U.S. dollars). Losers outnumbered gainers by 217 to 211.

The STI index closed up 0.28 percent or 9.21 points to close at 3,343.88 Wednesday.
