Singapore stocks closed higher on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) hiking 0.92 percent or 31.25 points to close at 3413.1.

A total of 2.72 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.43 billion Singapore dollars (about 1.05 billion U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered losers by 257 to 184.

The STI index closed down 0.01 percent or 0.46 points to close at 3381.85 on Monday.
