Singapore stocks closed higher on Monday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) climbing 1.01 percent or 32.29 points to close at 3241.85.
A total of 1.72 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.07 billion Singapore dollars (about 797.07 million U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered losers by 254 to 177.
The STI index went down 0.35 percent or 11.39 points to close at 3209.56 last Friday.
