Spanish shares dropped on Thursday, with the benchmark Ibex-35 down 0.47 percent or 48.9 points, to close at 10,457.80 points.

Chemical and pharmaceutical company Grifols was down 4.23 percent, followed by airline group IAG and media company Mediaset that lost 2.39 percent and 2.23 percent respectively.

Engineering and infrastructure company Tecnicas Reunidas advanced 2.28 percent, being the top gainer of the blue chips. Motorways operator Abertis A was up 0.75 percent and global operator of services and infrastructure Ferrovial rose 0.70 percent.
