Spanish shares gained on Wednesday, with the benchmark Ibex-35 up 0.49 percent, or 52 points, to close at 10,575.40 points.
A total of 25 of the selected 35 large companies gained in the day.
Electricity company Endesa advanced 3.52 percent, the top gainer, followed by supermarket chain DIA and renewable energy company Siemens Gamesa that rose 2.75 percent and 1.74 percent respectively.
Spain's fifth largest bank Bankia went down 2.56 percent, the top loser of the blue chips. Insurance company Mapfre and steel manufacturing corporation ArcelorMittal lost 1.97 percent and 1.87 percent respectively.
