Spanish shares gained on Monday, with the benchmark Ibex-35 up 2.44 percent or 248.5 points, to close at 10,446 points.

Spain's fourth largest bank Banco Sabadell advanced 5.67 percent, followed by real estate sector Inmobiliaria Colonial and Spain's third largest bank Caixabank that rose 4.48 percent and 4.17 percent respectively.

Consultancy and technology company Indra A went down 2.57 percent, the top loser of the blue chips.

Meanwhile, motorways operator Abertis A and steel manufacturing corporation ArcelorMittal rose 0.03 percent and 0.32 percent respectively.
