Tokyo stocks opened lower Friday as investor sentiment was dampened by private-sector U.S. jobs data for June missing median expectations and sending Wall Street lower overnight.
As of 9:15 a.m. local time, the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average dropped 81.74 points, or 0.41 percent, from Thursday to 19,912.32.
