Tokyo Stocks Open Moderately Higher Tracking Wall Street's Overnight Gains-July 20
 

Tokyo stocks opened marginally higher on Thursday tracking gains made on Wall Street overnight, but investors were in a cautious mood ahead of outcomes of policy meetings due later in the day at central banks in Japan and Europe.

As of 9:15 a.m. local time, the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average edged up 30.79 points, or 0.15 percent, from Wednesday to 20,051.65.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, added 3.64 points, or 0.22 percent, to 1,625.51.

Mining, construction and service-linked issues comprised those that advanced the most in the opening minutes of trade.
